Hello All,
Welcome to my world — where self-actualization meets real-life strategy, legacy-building, and hood wisdom. I’m Yasheka Foster, a 52-year-old Detroit-born, Louisiana-rooted woman who has worn many hats: soldier, wife, mother, healer, coach, and now—professor and media creator.
After 25 years in the Army, I retired as a Captain, but my true mission was just beginning. I hold a Master’s in Marriage & Family Counseling and a Bachelor’s in Psychology of Organizational Development. I’m also a Certified Life Coach, Licensed Cosmetologist, and author of one book and two co-authored works that explore personal healing and generational growth.
I birthed two sons, raised two bonus daughters, and now parent an adopted daughter who keeps me grounded and growing every day.
Through Hood-Parenting™, I help Gen Xers redefine what it means to guide, mentor, and heal—regardless of bloodlines. This isn’t just about raising kids. It’s about unlearning survival-mode habits, building purpose-driven legacies, and giving the next generation tools we never had.
And through The Ex-Newmys, my co-parenting YouTube show with my ex-husband Jerry Newmy, we prove that healing after the divorce is not only possible—it’s powerful.
My coaching philosophy is rooted in self-actualization: living in full alignment with who you truly are, not who the world told you to be. I help people Get R2.I.T.E.—Resilient, Relevant, Intuitive, Tenacious, and Empowered.
If you’re ready to shift your life, heal forward, and show up like your legacy depends on it—you’re in the right place.
