EDU-F101 – African Centered Education
About Course
African Centered Education 101 – This 6-week course (meeting 1x each week on Saturdays from 4-5:30 PM ET), explores how to educate ourselves in an affirming, Pan-African Nationalist world context, and advances an educational model which centers the African diaspora and Black people in America specifically. African centered education is warranted so that we are empowered to liberate ourselves from the shackles of systemic oppression.
This niche, African centered learning space is intended to guide educators, parents, community activists, and any/all interested persons of African descent to become deputized as critical thinkers, problem solvers, and social change agents equipped to positively transform ourselves, our own children/families, and the communities we live in through the intentional application of an African centered worldview. The culmination of the course will yield a targeted, well-designed blueprint prescribing a way forward which centers our culture, traditions, norms, and institutions as a way of life.
