About Course

This interactive course is designed to equip aspiring changemakers with the foundational tools and strategies to launch a nonprofit organization from scratch. Through a faith-based and purpose-driven lens, students will explore the legal, operational, and strategic elements of starting a nonprofit while developing a mission-centered approach to serve their community.

What Will You Learn?

  • By the end of this course, students will be able to:
  • Understand and complete the key steps to legally register a nonprofit organization.
  • Define a mission, vision, and value proposition that aligns with community needs.
  • Identify and file Articles of Incorporation and obtain 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.
  • Develop a strategic plan, including board governance, bylaws, and operational policies.
  • Create a simple startup budget and fundraising plan.
  • Build an outreach and branding strategy for community engagement.
  • Identify tools and partnerships for early success and sustainability.
