About Course

This hands-on course BEGINS JUNE 5TH, and explores the craftmanship and technical precision involved in sewing custom jeans. Emphasis will be placed on creating a well-fitted, durable, and stylish pair of jeans from start to finish.

What Will You Learn?

  • Students will gain experience working with denim
  • Professional techniques for construction, and finishing.
  • How to topstitch, install a fly zipper, and a waistband.
  • How to properly construct a pair of jeans.

Course Content

Course Introduction and Overview
Week 1: You will learn how to take measurements and read a pattern properly.

Pattern Prep and Sizing
Week 2: You will learn how to choose the right pattern size for your body type, and how to prep your pattern pieces according to instructions for construction.

Pockets
Week 3: We will prep and assemble the pockets and pocket linings (bag).

The Fly and Zipper
Week 4: We will construct the fly and the zipper.

Assembling The Back
Week 5: We will construct the back of the jean.

Sewing Sides
Week 6: We will close the side seams and topstitch inseam.

Assembling The Waistband, Belt Loops, and Buttonhole
Week 7: We will sew the waistband and belt loops this week.

Attaching Hardware
Week 8: We will complete the final touches to our custom jeans.
