About Course

Are you a beginner artist with big ideas but unsure where to start?

Well, the good news is that we’re not gonna do any animations in this course! So, don’t let my little animations turn you away, because this course is meant to help you gain the fundamental skills for building your own original character.

Do you need prior drawing experience?

This course assumes that you have already taken Prof. Joy’s Drawing 101 class (or any preliminary drawing class where you were taught drawing fundamentals like light/shadow, contour lines, perspective etc. With that foundation laid down, we can take your drawings to the next level.

This 12-week course will guide you through the fundamentals of figure drawing and character design—all the way to creating your very own mini 4-page comic!
